Mid South Scrappers March Newsletter!

Hello Scrappers and welcome to March! I’m looking forward to more sunny days and a little warmer temperatures which will lighten up the utility bill and I know we can all benefit from that, at least for now. I’ve got lots of news to cover but will try to keep it short.

The March Pajama Crop Party Weekend’s registration is now closed. There are 33 croppers that will be attending. Since some have paid for the places of two people, 45 out of 64 spaces have been filled. We have croppers coming from as far as Kentucky, Vicksburg, MS and Little Rock, AR to this event! What a turnout! There will be an email for the weekender’s sent out shortly that should cover all the information that you’ll need to know for our much anticipated weekend of croppin’, food, prizes and fun!

If you missed the opportunity to come to the March Weekend you’ll want to be sure to mark your calendar for our next one! Our Scrapper’s Summer Camp will be held the weekend of July 23^rd – 25^th at The Cottages at Kirkwood (Kirkwood National Golf Course) in Holly Springs, MS. Detailed information for that will go up on the website shortly and registration will begin on Friday, April 9^th. However, the March PJ Crop attendees will have first dibs on their places. There will be a limit on the “bed/table to yourself” option as there was for the March Weekend. The biggest reason for this is so that we solicit great vendors. The number of croppers is a factor in their decision making with regard to them packing up and traveling to us. Also, a payment plan will be offered again and spaces will fill in order of receipt.

The April 17^th “All Day and Into the Night Crop” has filled at a record rate! There are three spaces out of 30 left for that event! The new location, Holiday Inn located at Hacks Cross and Nonconnah (385) in Memphis, TN, is definitely a plus for our group. The overnight rate of $64.99/flat rate per room (plus taxes) is an awesome rate for those that would like to stay overnight. It also provides an excellent opportunity for our Little Rock, AR, Jackson, MS, Jackson, TN and Kentucky friends to make the trip adding about $20 each (based on a party of four) to the event fee. At this time, Creative Memories is the only vendor for the event.

Updates and Reminder!

Hello Everyone ~

Two important pieces of information! The deadline for all balances to be paid is this Friday, February 26, 2010. Can you believe that date is already here! This means that it is just FOUR short weeks until our much anticipated weekend! There are only a few spaces left and registration for the March Pajama Crop Party Weekend will close on Saturday, February 27th! If you're interested in coming, remember I've opened up more of the "bed & table to yourself" option at $225 per cropper!

The April 17th "All Day and Into the Night Crop" has only FIVE spaces left! Also, don't forget the fabulous rate the we're getting at the Comfort Suites right next door!

Hello Scrappers!

I wanted to give you a quick update about two things! First, there are two rooms/four beds left at the March Pajama Crop Party Weekend. These are available for four to eight people depending on what you register for. You may choose the "bed/table to yourself" option for $225 or the "shared bed/table" option for $175. You will want to remember that all monies are due no later than 2/26/2010.

Second, the April 17th "All Day and Into the Night Crop" is filling up at a record rate! Eleven people have already registered/paid for their spot! Six registrations came in just this past week! There is only one of the 8' x 18" tables remaining and these are grouped in a pod of four. This last table will not be moved to "your group" due to the formatting of the room but your buds can be behind you or across the pod from you.

Rooms at the hotel ... I've got five rooms blocked off at the Comfort Suites which is next to (walk across the parking lot) from the Holiday Inn! I chose this one as the indoor pool is AWESOME! You will need to give "Mid South Scrappers" as the discount code to get the $64.99 room rate which is for a room with two queen beds.

Hello Mid South Scrappers! Can you believe we’re already in to February! This year has found its running shoes early. I’ve got some awesome updates for you as well as some reminders …

First, the January 16^th “All Day and Into the Night Crop” was a huge success! There was only one spot remaining. The door prizes were great and one of Melanie Beyer’s daughters won a half price crop! (That’s really nice for Melanie as she paid for three … LOL) There were three people that earned Rebate Bucks towards their next crop fee which is also pretty handy. Everyone had a great time and already looking forward to the April 17^th All Day and Into the Night Crop. (There are already croppers registered!)

Speaking of the April 17^th All Day and Into the Night Crop … HUGE NEWS! A new location! This crop will be at the Holiday Inn at Hacks Cross and 385 behind the Cracker Barrel. The meeting room is a little larger than Hampton’s allowing for six additional croppers. This is a more central location for everyone and our Cordova, Bartlett and Arlington friends don’t have as far to drive. Another thing about the Holiday Inn crop is that you’ll be able to select the size/style of table that you like best. Plus, there are four tables at a premium! There are four tables that are 18” wide x 8’ long and offered at the same price! (What a treat for Cricut owners!) These are available on a first come, first served basis so if you want one of these, I wouldn’t wait around too long.

Holiday Inn has also offered us a super room rate in the event some of you might like to stay overnight! The rate is $64.99 plus tax ($74.25) and is a flat rate for the room. The rooms have two queen beds so up to four of you can share the room at this great price! $74.25/4= $18.56 each and this includes your breakfast the next morning!

Rebate Bucks are going to continue to be offered so be sure to keep this in mind if you’d like to have your next crop fee offset by as much as $25! For each new person that you refer to my crop, i.e. one that’s never been to one of my crops or weekends before, you will receive $5 towards your next crop fee. $25 off of a $40 crop fee is a great deal!

Updates on the March Pajama Crop Party Weekend …

Vendor update … Page Perfect Memories is not able to come due to health issues with the owner. I’m sorry about this and have tried to solicit other stores but it’s just too short of notice for them to be prepared. Is there anyone that would like to have their spot?

February 26^th is the deadline for everyone to get their balances paid. If you can’t remember how much your balance is, please email me and I’ll let you know.

Is there anyone that has not registered for the weekend due to not being able to have the “bed and table to yourself” option that sold out almost immediately? Also, is there anyone that would like to upgrade to the “bed/table to yourself” option? If so, please email me at: terry@midsouthscrappers.com.

This is an "all inclusive" crop! Your lunch, dinner, snacks and beverages are included in this fee.
Lunch is Chicken Salad, chips and pickles.
Dinner is Mexican Casserole with all the fixin's.
Beverages for the day include coffee, bottled water with Lemonade packets available, Coke, Diet Coke and Sprite.

Electricity is available but you need to bring your own extension cords and power strips.

NEW INFO, PLEASE READ! Tables~ This room is made up of three different sizes of tables! First, there are 6 of the 6’ x 18” tables like Hampton’s. You’ll have one to yourself! (These are grouped together.) Next are 4 tables that are 8’ x 18”. You will have one to yourself! (Cricut owners will want to jump on these!) They are first come, first served and are grouped together in 4 so this will be a small group.Last are tables that are 6’ x 3’. These tables are twice the depth of the 6’ x 18” tables so you will be sharing one of these with another cropper. (You still have the same amount of table top area as a 6’x18” table, it is just more compact.) There are two groups of these, one in a group of twelve and one in a group of eight.

Only 30 spaces for this event.

Please bring a light jacket or sweater as the temperature in the room runs cool.

This is your registration form for the Mid South Scrappers (MSS) “All Day and Into the Night Crop” for Saturday, April 17, 2010. The cost for the crop is $40.00 per person if paid by April 2, 2010 and $45.00 if paid at the door, space permitting. There are 30 spaces to be had at this event! We can have a maximum of three vendors at this event. (There are no “write me down’s” due to lack of fulfillment and participation.)

New Location! More Croppers! Did you notice the new location address? This Holiday Inn Express is located just off of Hacks Cross, south of Nonconnah/385. You will turn west at the light at Lowrance and then right at Stansell Court. Plus, their Meeting Room is larger than Hampton’s so we can host six more croppers!

Rebates Continue! For each new person that you refer, i.e. someone that has never been to one of my events and registers to come to a crop, you will receive a $5 per person, up to $25.00 per crop, towards your next crop fee.

Table Light: Since this is a new location, I’ve not cropped under these lights so bringing your table light might be a good idea. I will have run the “big orange” power cords to each group of tables. You will need to work within your group to bring at least two power strips.
