October 2010 Newsletter

Happy October and Cooler Temperatures to You! I believe all of us are breathing a sigh of relief at the much needed cooler temperatures! This summer has been a scorcher! This begins my season of graciously allowing my power company to feel a recession from our household, in that of a MUCH lower utility bill! Unfortunately for Glynn, this is when his blankets come out ... lol.

Here's what's happening with Mid South Scrappers along with important dates that you'll want to mark your calendar for.

Fall Scrappin' Extravaganza: This event is just under two weeks away and a total sellout! How exciting is this!!! We have 39 croppers attending with the vast majority of them choosing the "Luxury Option" which fills two spaces with one registration! 26 of these croppers are brand new to the event!!! The word is spreading and croppers are coming!

We also have more vendors than ever before as well! Counting Kathy's "Oh Scrap" bags and my cards, we have seven vendors! We're also trying something brand new ... Fab Dorsett is bringing her BeautiControl and some Fun, Fashion Jewelry. This is going to be one more FUN weekend full of scrappin', shoppin' and making lots of new friends! I can't wait!

2011 Weekend Dates are Set! I've listed the event dates as well as when registration begins for each one, so pay close attention to those. The prices will remain the same; Luxury Option $140 and Thrifty Option is $95. The location will also be the same, Kirkwood National Golf Course's Cottages in Holly Springs, MS.

Pajama Crop Party Weekend: March 4th - 6th, 2011. Registration begins on Monday, October 18, 2010 with Fall Scrappin' Extravaganza attendees and vendors having first dibs on their spots over their weekend. October 18, 2010 will also be the date that I will begin accepting applications for vendors for this event.

Fall Scrappin' Extravaganza Weekend: October 28th - 30th, 2011. Registration begins on Friday, March 11, 2011 with Pajama Crop Party attendees and vendors having first dibs on their spots over their weekend. March 11, 2011 will also be the date that I will begin accepting applications for vendors for this event.

Summer Croppin' Weekend: At this time I do not have a weekend scheduled for the summer as there seems to be too much going on both physically and financially for our croppers. However, if there's enough interest, a minimum of 25 croppers, I'll be glad to get a weekend booked.

Now to the Personal Stuff: Quite a few of you have been following up with me about our relocation to Mountain Home. I can now tell you that this was not successful. Without going into detail, Glynn decided that this really wasn't the best thing for him (and us) to do for a whole lot of reasons. While this has been his "dream" for over 20 years, it should have remained just that ... a dream. (Those are his words, not mine.) We have been on the "roller coaster ride of our lives" and are back home to STAY!

I can't tell you how much I've appreciated the emails and posts on Facebook but couldn't respond as things were just too unsettled and unsure. Things seem to finally be getting back in order but there are still several hurdles to cross. Hopefully by January 2011, this will all be behind us and an experience we'll look back on with a quick glance. One thing's for sure, we know just how much we mean to each other and the daily presence of each other is powerful!

To my "inner circle of scrappin' sistas", I can't thank you enough for being there for me! Taking the time to listen and talk to me through this ordeal and praying for God's very best for us all the while! I believe Fab's worn her knees plumb out! I can't thank you enough!

Needless to say, I can now resume planning some of the "All Day and Into the Night Crops" for us local scrappers!!!! I can't tell you how many emails I've gotten about those!

Everyone have a wonderful October!

Thanks,

Terry Dunlap
